50th Year Community Service Projects
To commemorate 50 years of caring education, the school
has expanded community outreach to include activities
at the national and region-wide level.
Find
out about the regionwide peace-building project
RIS is organizing in cooperation with UNESCO-Bangkok
and the Rotary Center for Peace and Conflict Studies
Chulalongkorn University. The
Prison Learning Center is another unique
community outreach program initiated by RIS to honor
the history of caring service at our school.
School Improvements
At this exciting time in the school’s history
and progress, RIS has also embarked on extensive school-wide
renovations to improve the learning atmosphere.
- Godbout Hall is getting an extensive makeover
to become an 840-seat, state-of-the-art, multi-purpose
facility.
- By 2007 all high school students will attend school
with individual laptops.
- The school is on its way to becoming fully wireless,
with LCD projectors in classrooms and modern computer
and multi-media centers throughout the campus.
50th Anniversary Memory Book and DVD
We invite the global RIS family to share
mages and memories of friends – alumni, former
faculty and staff, priests who embodied the spirit
of Ruamrudee. Some
of our great people are remembered on this website:
Fr. Harry Thiel and Mr. Glenn Gamble.
The school would be grateful for original photographs
and memorabilia to include in the 50th year memory
book and DVD. The memory book and DVD will be distributed
at the 50th Anniversary Closing Ceremony in 2008 and
may be ordered for postal delivery.
