FORTY-NINE
years ago the Redemptorists of
Thailand formed the idea for an international
school to meet the educational and catechetical
needs of the children of expatriate and
local Catholic parishioners. Ruamrudee
International School arose from that idea.
The first students sat in wooden classrooms
separated by a movable chalkboard, housed
in a parish sala over a pond behind Holy
Redeemer Church. The official opening
day was May 17, 1957, hereby designated
RIS Foundation Day.
To begin the countdown to our
50th anniversary, we will gather
for an all-school Foundation Day Assembly
on Wednesday, May 17th. We will take a
moment to pay tribute to our past, and
celebrate the proud progress that we have
made as a school and as a community. |
Parents,
alumni and friends are warmly invited
to join the event. We will be giving out
souvenirs at the assembly, and free ice-cream
during milk break to commemorate the occasion
– Happy Birthday, RIS! |
from Fr. Wirach, Head of School
and Fr. Travis, Campus Chaplain .
