Makeup School Days and Extended International
Cultural Week
Dear Elementary School Parents,
The Elementary School faculty met with the section
administration and myself this morning to study
ways of making up for lost contact time. With
ES having to be closed from October 16-19, we
are anxious to make sure that all lessons and
activities that have been planned for this school
year are covered in full. Our meeting this morning
reached these agreements:
1. Parent-Teacher Conferences that have been
set up this week will go ahead as scheduled.
2. The following days will be regular full school
days for Elementary students only:
- Wed 8 Nov 2006 – originally calendared
as an Early Dismissal Day
- Fri 17 Nov 2006 – originally calendared
as a Teacher Inservice Day
- Mon 8 Jan 2007 – originally calendared
as the day Teachers report back from Christmas
holiday
- Wed 17 Jan 2007 – originally calendared
as an Early Dismissal Day
- Wed 14 Feb 2007 – originally calendared
as an Early Dismissal Day
- Wed 14 Mar 2007 – originally calendared
as an Early Dismissal Day
Please have your Elementary school children
attend school on these days.
Furthermore, we are pleased to report that International
Cultural Week will be extended to give Elementary
students ample opportunities to participate.
The Parents’ Food Sale has been postponed
to Thursday 2 November. The Elementary School
will have costume themes and activities as follows:
Mon 30 Oct - ES assembly, ES music show, and
Asian national costume day (ES only)
Tue 31 Oct - Halloween costume day (ES/MS/HS)
Wed 1 Nov - Host country (Thai) national costume
day (ES only)
Thu 2 Nov - Parents’ International Food
Sale; Your own country’s national costume
day (ES only); HS cultural show during ES lunch
break
