| RIS Implements New Security
and Traffic Regulations |
| After careful study and consultation
with security experts, RIS has reinforced its
security regulations and changed the traffic flow
for the school. The following is a short summary
of the changes:
Traffic:
There are now only two ways for patrons and visitors
to enter the RIS campus. One can enter through
Gate #4 via Chokechai Village or enter through
Gate #6 via Perfect Place Village. We are attempting
to have as few entrances as possible.
Each entrance is under observation via closed
circuit TV. We have plans to install more cameras
around the campus in the future in order to monitor
for security 24/7. The majority of school buses
are coming into the school via Perfect Place Village
through Gate #6. Students who walk from the RIST
parking lot should enter the RIS compound via
Gate #5 and walk on the right side of the road
to their respective sections.
Campus Entry/Parking Permit and Name Tag:
To facilitate the security process we have adjusted
our Campus Entry/Parking Permits to be current
each year. Parents, students, drivers, and school
buses must have an appropriate permit displayed
on the window of their vehicle to enter and/or
park on the campus. If there is no permit, one
must secure a Visitor parking permit from the
guard as you enter campus. The guard will call
the section or appropriate party to seek permission
for the vehicle to be on campus. If allowed to
enter, the visitor will have to exchange identification
for a visitors pass to enter the compound. Parents,
students, drivers, and staff will have to secure
a new parking permit each school year. We also
have temporary parking permits and medical permits.
Any student with a medical problem who needs to
be dropped off in the back of the school should
secure a medical permit from Dr. Mikes office.
His office is located on the first floor of the
Administration Building. Parents with a medical
permit may drop off their student(s) behind the
Canteens but must then move their vehicle to the
Parent/Student parking lot. Students, parents,
and staff who ride motorcycles must also secure
a permit. There is a section in the Parent parking
lot by Gate #4 for the parking of motorcycles.
Students riding bicycles may park their bikes
at Gate #3, in the back of the Parent/Student
parking lot, or at Gate #6. Permits can be purchased
in the Finance Office.
We expect our parents to purchase a RIS, RIST,
or Swiss section name tag and display this tag
at all times they are on campus. Students on non-uniform
days must also display their tags. If a parent
forgets to bring the identification tag, they
will have to exchange identification with the
guard for a visitors badge to gain entrance
to the campus.
Speed While Driving on Campus
We have noticed some cars driving too fast for
conditions while on campus. While driving on campus,
we ask that no one drive faster than 10 K per
hr. During the morning and afternoon pick up and
drop-off times, our campus is very congested and
driving fast will put our parents, students, and
staff in jeopardy.
Our goal is provide a level of security that will
make RIS a safe place in which to educate our
students. With everyones cooperation and
understanding, this goal will be accomplished.
Please dont hesitate to bring any traffic
or security concerns to my attention. My extension
is #334 and my email is holmes@rism.ac.th.

| Union of
Hearts through Caring |
Our School Theme continues to
follow the spirit of love and concern for one
another, the spirit upon which Ruamrudee - "union
of hearts" in Thai - was founded in 1957.
We thank all our parents, students, teachers,
administrators and staff for your support, and
for helping to make RIS a community of caring
citizens.
With pride and excitement we look forward to a
great 50th anniversary celebration in 2007. Join
us! |
| Our Expected
Schoolwide Learning Results: |
Caring Citizens: Students will
listen to and be able to understand others' thoughts,
feelings and emotions, in order to appreciate
other people and work cooperatively in a caring,
empathic environment.
Complex Thinkers: Students will be able to demonstrate
their understanding of curricular goals by interpreting,
evaluating, and applying knowledge to new situations.
Literate in English: Students will be proficient
in English for academic achievement and for communicating
in socially and culturally appropriate ways.
