Pupil services workshop
As we watch our children journey through a world filled with quite possibly the most stress of any generation, we as parents must do everything we can to make their journey easier. We must educate ourselves with services provided by our community such as the “How to Recognize Stress and How to Respond to it” seminar I attended in October. Rob Conley, Director of Pupil Services, began this seminar by reminding us of the importance of keeping an eye on our children and educating ourselves in recognizing the signs that our children are under perhaps too much stress. Bob Peterson followed by describing how our children can react to stress and know the difference between good stress and bad. This seminar was an extraordinary opportunity to speak with professionals such as: Emma Daengsvang, Simone Courso, Tricia Lambert, Lynn Peace, as well as Rob Conley and Bob Peterson, not to mention the comfort in talking with other parents. As a parent in today’s society I am anxious if not desperate for information that can help me create a better life for my children. I walked away from this seminar feeling equipped with a few more tools on how to best protect and care for my children.
